That’s another 3,101 words in the bag and another goal hit!
As I race through this final section it’s becoming more and more apparent how close I am to the end of this first draft. My middle section is nearly complete, finishing off all the links to the ending. Which means I’ll only have a few chapters at the start to do and voila! Fin!
This is a giddy, surreal feeling. Breaking into the 70,000+ sector is going to be huge for me. It’s going to make me extremely happy and really bring about the end of this journey. I can’t wait to start editing this bad boy (I already have an idea about scenes to add and delete) and the 70,000 mark is the signpost for the real final sprint.
It’s going to get harder to hit my goal now, as I’m heading back to college tomorrow. Then again, the more constrained time frame could just mean less procrastination. We shall see!
So, at the end of day 3 of my 10 day challenge, my total count is: 65, 717 words.
Tomorrow’s Goal: 68,717 words.
